The open fields and fresh atmosphere of our villages inspire us.We breathe pollution-free air and move amid crops and plants. That is why, on seeing a host of daffodils on the bank of a lake Wordsworth says:“For oft when on my couch I lie, in vacant or in pensive mood, They flash upon that inward eye. How unlucky are they who cannot enjoy and appreciate nature.
Through the whispering blades of grass, a brilliant fire arose from the depths turning the lingering water droplets into liquid silver that dripped from expectant leaves and flowed gurgling into shallow puddles, bathing the young trees with the succulent taste of a new day.
Nature means the countryside (village areas with fields and gardens), trees, hills, valleys and rocks, the sky and atmosphere, the seas and all that is not made by man.
It is like experiencing the joys of paradise and the pleasures of heaven.
When it snows or rains in the hilly areas or on the plains, our joys and feelings are matchless (incomparable).
They bring us in close proximity (nearness) of trees, shrubs (bushes), waterfalls and lakes with birds and animals around to mesmerize us (affect us magically).
Much more romantic is the mountain climbing and long walks in the valleys. The villagers moving together with their animals and tools (implements) and working in the fields let us feel the charms of their basic activities in nature. The parks in the cities have beautiful natural scenes for us.The dew drops on the blades of grass look like iridescent pearls. The silvery moon and the twinkling stars bedeck the sky.A light wind rustled the miniature stalks of the saplings, blowing the new debris around in short-lived eddies that danced softly through the night. Then, slowly at first, but with ever increasing intensity, a small glimmer appeared on the glossy leaves.Flowers are the ornaments of nature that we find in our homes, on the roadside and in flowerbeds and flowerpots. There is no end to their variety and charms as there is no interval in their appeal and effects on us.The roaring waves in the vast ocean and the lakes which look like sheets of water add to the glorious treasure.Even the violent aspects of nature like the thundering clouds with dazzling flashes fighting, the torrential rain, and the all-powerful storm are some of the aspects of nature which Tennyson termed as nature “red in tooth and claw”.
